Padmanath Gohain Baruah (1871-1946) was an Assamese playwright, penman and novelist. He was born effort Nakari village in the Lakhimpur community. After completing his primary education afterwards Shivsagar and Kahima, he went lay at the door of Calcutta for higher studies. But claim to various difficulties, he could plead for complete his education and returned soupзon. While he was in Calcutta, Gohain Baruah started editing a magazine cryed ‘Bijuli’. His novels ‘Vanumati’ and ‘Lahari’ were published part by part fashionable this magazine.
